(More customer reviews)Wireless is great, of course, but since the quality and speed degrades with distance, and your device may not have a wireless card, it's not always the catch-all solution. The Pluglink provides a clever answer to the problem of providing Internet access in a part of your house that would be too onerous to use wiring for.
All you do is plug one adapter into the router side, and then plug another into the room where you want Internet access. The two outlets use your power lines to move traffic from the router to the furthest point. The remarkable part is that the connection is really fast - I didn't experience any reduction in bandwidth (18 Mbs on my U-verse connection) or any additional latency.
It's also very easy to set up - beyond connecting the ethernet cables, there's zero configuration, and I've never seen any problems if the router is restarted. It's basically the easy way of moving a wired ethernet port from one place to another - but without the difficulty of wiring it in place.
