(More customer reviews)I purchased this reader with a combination of Kingston's SDHC card. I do not agree with that the memory card reader is a flimsy junk. It is plastic, so don't expect it last if you roll over with your car. It is not worse than a USB flash drive which is made of plastic (since most of them are). If you are a person who doesn't know how to take care of things, it will probably not last long. Just like you would not toss around your digital camera, this item meant to serve as a card reader and not a football, a frisbee, or a toy for your dog.
The card reader has a little blue light at the top and is blinking when data is being read. I find the reader great help, so I don't have to keep connect the cable to my camera, just pop the card out and read away. It supports different cards which is also great, but I only use it with SDHC cards.
You can pull out the little doors/protectors or whatever else you might wanna call it, both at the front and on the back, which will protect the USB connector and the card as well. This way you can easily leave a card in there while transporting it and it will be protected.
It is a great multi card reader for a few bucks.
